Grants and Awards

The Rotary Club of Mercer Island (“MIRC”) initiates grants from its affiliated Mercer Island Rotary Foundation. The mission is to provide financial support to worthy IRS §501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations at the local, regional and international level. The funds distributed are those developed through annual MIRC fund raising efforts (eg, the Mercer Island Rotary Half Marathon).

The guidelines for distributions are as follows:
Local community events & services .......... 20% of the funds distributed annually

Charitable needs receive the balance of the funds, generally in accordance with the following ratio:
Local......................30%
Regional.................30%
International............20%

Individuals do not qualify for grants.

Organizations who wish to submit a grant request are encouraged to complete the Grant Request Form and submit it to the Club.
